How to dual boot android os on samsung galaxy s advance

So, how to dual boot your android device as dual booting windows on pc. Like you can have windows 7 as well as windows 8 on a single pc, you can now have dual android os i.e, stock firmware  as primary and custom firmware as secondary. Or you can have custom rom as primary........hmmm any way you want it.

You have to follow the steps one by one in order to make dualboot operation successful. Remember No Shortcut.

    Roms Supported

    • Primary Rom: Any
    • Secondary Rom: All Cm based roms.
Dual boot causes no lag at all. There is no bugs and both rom works at the same speed. Stock roms are fully supported and roms can be switched by changing Kernal.

For dual booting, Steps are preety simple. There are main 5 parts to complete. You have to strictly follow the steps for problem free operation.

    The first part is to

    1. Build custom dual boot supported custom rom.
Now you may wonder what is it. It means that in order to flash a secondary rom, we will have to build a rom which is dual boot compatible. We cannot simply flash two roms at the same time like usual. There are no ready to flash dual boot compatible roms available. So we will have to make it manually. Dont worry, the steps are pretty simple. i will be separating each procedure in different post so that you can learn easily.

    Step no 2,
Download dual boot compatible gapps for the secondary custom rom.

Warning, You cannot use normal gapps in order to flash in dual boot. The gapps that you will be downloading is a custom g-app built for dual booting. It only installs Playstore so that you can download other apps from the internet. No other stuffs.

    Step no 3,
is to download and flash the appropriate Kernal.

We have a list of appropriate kernals for downloads. Now here, appropriate kernals refers to the kernals that are of the custom roms that you are going to boot secondarily.

That is, if you are making CM11 as secondary boot, then you will have to download the Cm11 dual boot compatible kernal from the download link. I will be providing you the links at the end. But first, understanding the procedure is must.

For flashing the kernal, you can use an app known as UNIVERSAL KERNAL  FLASH TOOl. Its free to download over playstore.

Or, you can use the Terminal Emulator for flashing kernal by executing the following command:

                      dd if=/sdcard/kernal.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p15

    Step no 4:
    is to,

    • Reboot your device into recovery. Ignor any warnings that recovery shows.
    • Install the custom dual boot compatible zip file rom without performing any kinds of wipe.
    • Install the custom dual boot compatible g-apps and
    • Reboot. Thats it.
Remember, First boot always takes time.

    Step no 5:

    Is to troubleshoot some problems.
If wifi is not working on secondary rom, then you will have to download and flash the appropriate modules from the download section.

In order to switch between Primary and Secondary Rom, you can use the following methods.

    • You can use a simple app named DUALBOOT App. Install it after booting up on any primary or secondary rom, Userinterference is pretty simple. You can use it to switch between roms, share primary rom apps to secondary rom and some more.

Or, the manual way is by
    • Booting up in your Primary rom and navigating to  /data folder
    • Deleting /data/secondary_data folder
    • Then flashing the secondary kernal and flashing the secondary rom

    Things to keep in mind:

If you factory reset the primary rom, you will no longer have secondary rom.
