Greenify is an android OS based app which is meant for Hibernating the running user apps. What Hibernation here does is that it Force Stops the running apps. You can see the list of running apps by heading over to the Settings - Apps - Running apps. If you click on some of the running app, you get the option to force stop it.
Android OS is designed in such a way that it keeps the activities running using the ram memory constantly. Even when a user leave or is not using the app, the system keeps the activities alive which helps in quick launch, multitasking and for keeping the important notifications.
Use of the ram memory consumes more battery juice and may also slow down the device performance.
So, using Greenify can help in releasing such ram memory. This doesnt mean that it will stop the necessary app on which android system relies on and soft brick the device.
Greenify app can be downloaded free over the Play store. The free version have some limitation. You cannot hibernate the running system apps.
After donating, or purchasing, you will have everything unlocked.

Before you open the app after downloading the free version or a paid one, i would like you to let you know that greenify have three working modes.

In the 2nd mode of working which is the Root Mode, Greenify performs the hibernation with ease automatically. That means no pop up of the settings page to force stop the app. But may sometimes fail to stop the app.
The best way for greenify to work is the third way that is BOOST MODE. To work in this mode, you must have XPOSED INSTALLER installed.
So Download the xposed installer and install it on your phone. Install the framework and reboot. Activate the greenify module and again reboot. And now you can activate the boost working mode of the greenify.
First, head over to the experimental features
Select your working mode according to the status of your device, that is root, non root, or boost.
You may want to tick mark on Greenify system apps section because there are lots of unnecessary system apps that needs to be hibernated. You may also tick mark on Deep Hibernation section but it requires a donated version of the app and xposed installed.

Its time you add some apps now on the list. Press back button and head over to the " + " button and you will see the next screen
Press the three little dots and tick mark on Show All section. Then click on show more button below to reveal all the user as well as system apps.
Start adding apps. The system apps are shown with Orange colored fonts. You will be prompted as system apps are not safe to be greenified in general. But you can press insist and continue. Dont worry, if you hibernate the phone , messaging, playstore or sms app, you will still recieve the phone calls, sms and other notifications. But donot hibernate your default launcher as greenify will force stop it and your system may crash.
After adding some apps , you may now press the little " zzz "markd buton to start the process of hibernation.
You may also create the shortcut for greenifiying your apps everytime you stop using it. You must clear the recent app list inorder for a sucessful greenification.
